After learning a new concept, students need the opportunity to apply and practice what they have learned. Resources such as the math folder games allow students to have fun while they practice. Other manipulatives such as the balance scale, the bear counters, and the build a number houses allow the students to visually and physically experience math. Math needs to be fun and engaging! All of these hands-on activities and manipulatives will help students enjoy math, as well as support what they are learning. First grade needs to be engaging and fun in order to set a foundation for future learning.
