As a middle school teacher, I want to empower my students with disabilities. I want them to feel valued, respected, and that they fit in with their peers. I desire to educate all of my students about respect, tolerance, and differences. My students with disabilities are different, not less. They are not defined by their disability. By doing a novel study of the book "Wonder", I hope to impact every student who reads this book. This book will be of equal importance to both my mainstream students and my students with special needs. They will learn to see different points of view and the joy that is found in being yourself.
