I am an international teacher from England who has not long arrived in the US to teach in North Carolina. I arrived here with a suitcase and little else and so I am looking for resources to make my classroom the best learning experience that my children can have. My class consists of 17 children from various socio-economical backgrounds. Many are from military families. Many others are from single parent homes. My school is a Tier One School and 3/4 of the families we work with come from low income homes. The children are lively, friendly and eager to learn. They enjoy school and they particularly enjoy their Math and Science lessons. I am looking for ways to make their school time a memorable, enjoyable and fun experience which fosters a desire in them to continue their learning beyond the confines of the classroom and the school, resulting in them continuing their learning journey throughout their lives.
