Eastern Senior High School has been known as the "Pride of Capitol Hill" for over 100 years. However, for many years, the school had fallen into decline. Since 2011, Eastern SHS has been on a mission to "Re-Launch the Legacy" and has made huge turn-arounds. We are working hard to make sure that every child is prepared for college and career. Teaching history on Capitol Hill is a unique experience and provides amazing opportunities for critical engagement with the important issues that affect my students' lives. History is more than a story here, it is living and changing daily in our city, and I work to make sure that students have the background they need to be successful in an ever-changing society.
