To motivate my students to read for enjoyment I allow them to get a book and go anywhere in the classroom that they will be comfortable. I have beach chairs, bean bags, rugs and an igloo in my room. My room is located across from the cafeteria and often students will ask if when they finish their lunch if they can come into my room and read. My room is also used as positive reinforcement for behavior problems. If students earn free time for good behavior they can come down to my classroom and read in any of the reading centers. This year I thought it would be motivational to have a teepee with arm chairs.
