Speech therapy of old focused on using a specific method of remediation that was limited to drill and some book work. As the scope and practice of speech therapy has changed, we now find ourselves in a position to impact the students classroom performance. My students will use the reading comprehension, details and idioms to improve their ability to express information in class and at home. The Sensory Bins, Games and writing materials will be used for students who do not have the literacy skills, but also need to improve their communication and ability to provide details. Games and hands-on activities have been proven to be an effective method used to increase learning. I plan to improve social communication as well as written communication skills that are needed to function successfully in the classroom.

About my class
