Our school has faced many challenges and while we have grown and expanded there are still some essential items that our students are missing. Copiers are great to help give multiple students a short story or poem to read, but asking to copy hundreds of pages for over 100 students is impossible. Giving these students a class set of the novel Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman will offer them a chance to become engaged in a novel while learning essential literary elements. Here is a chance for students to read a modern novel that they can relate to and get excited about, all while getting to learn. While it would be a dream come true to have every student own a copy of their study material, it is not possible. Not everyone can afford these books and having the ability to read the novel without worrying about the money to go into it would be an incredible gift for these families.
