I'm a kindergarten teachers at Barnes Elementary. This is a Title 1 school that provides breakfast, lunch and snack for it's student body. Approximately 80% of our students come from low income households. It's my goal each school year to make the classroom a place they love to be. I want their first experience at school to be positive. I prepare them for first grade, while instilling a love for learning. My students don't always have the advantages of other children outside of school, but while they're with me I try my best to give them all the opportunities within my reach. Kindergartners LOVE to be at school. They're sweet, loving, kind little sponges eager to learn. My kindergartners generally arrive with limited learning experiences and I enjoy exposing & immersing them in as many learning opportunities as possible. It's rewarding to see their academic and social growth. Kindergartners are the best!
