Because my students are growing up in low-income families, most of them do not have access to technology. It's a blessing that they are able to work with Chromebooks at school. However, iPads offer so many enriching opportunities for students that Chromebooks can't. In our classroom we would use iPad apps to support us in reading, math, social studies, and science. Students will have access to a variety of applications that will allow them to strengthen their skills in these areas and research topics for learning. For example, students would have access to reading programs that would allow them to read hundreds of books not available to them otherwise (our school does not have a library). This would improve their fluency and reading comprehension skills. These iPads will help me support different styles of learners, differentiate materials and projects, and allow for collaboration among the students.
