Our classrooms need to be brought into the 21st century and be personalized to meet individual student needs. My classroom is starting to go digital after so many years of being left in the dark due to lack of resources. Though we are far from having a 1:1 ratio, I am working hard to implement regular embedded instructional technology. While also teaching them literacy skills, I am incorporating Microsoft 365 products like Teams, Class Notebook, SharePoint, Sway, and OfficeMIx. This technology will enable me to create personalized learning pathways for my students and give them more voice and choice in the classroom. One, among many, impediments to this is the 'old school' traditional classroom set up from my school age years back in the 80s and beyond. I want to bring them innovative and versatile classroom furniture that promotes active learning and flexible seating and grouping options. These desks and stools will increase engagement, help students who need to fidget, promote collaboration, and create a classroom that can easily be transformed into various classroom configurations.
