I teach 6th grade math in an elementary school. I also have 6th graders for STEAM & PBL in summer school (all subjects). The picture is a DNA model a student made during summer school. My classroom during the regular school year, has computer tables and chairs as the students' desks. They are very big, long and difficult to maneuver. I can only move them in certain places in order to have room for the other areas of my classroom. I need a kidney table, but do not have the room due to the large tables. I would love to have tables/seating in my classroom that support their sensory needs. Most of my students love to move! (Yes, even in 6th grade). I would like for them to have different type of seating such as bean bags in the library area of the class. They would enjoy having some fun stools to sit on while working at their desks/table. I believe this will keep them engaged and focused on the lessons.
