I chose an assortment of items that will enhance and modernize our reader and writer workshop! I chose an Amazon Echo to seamlessly play soothing and inspiring music, as well as to make productive lists and set important timers. I chose an assortment of writing materials such as special pens, highlighters, and stationary types that make writing fun, as well as expose them to material source they might not otherwise come into contact with! I would like some sets of Jenga in order for the students to play the many word work and vocabulary driven games I have designed. I also would like some sheet protectors because I plan to give students important copies of handouts in our workshops for them to reference when working on literacy-based pieces, and I want them to be kept safe. Students crave authentic, fun expressions of themselves in both reading and writing! They seek creative ways of expressing themselves in writing and want something to explore and relate to in reading. I want to have as many opportunities for them to do this as possible in my classroom!
