Over the course of 5 years, at least 750 students will benefit from engaging mathematics lessons presented through the iPad and Apple TV. I will also use the iPad to voice-record questions and answers for students with Read Aloud Accommodations. The iPad will also allow me to record class-presentations and post them so students who are absent can access class notes anytime. The iPad will do a lot of things for EVERY student in my classroom and for me, one thing it will not do is sit idly and collect dust! My students will benefit from this project because they By donating to our project you will help transform my students' understanding of mathematics and you will help me foster a classroom environment that encourages students to love math and love learning! The iPad allows me to create lessons with Doceri that incorporate pictures, videos, web pages, and much more to make the mathematics the students will be learning engaging and personal to their experiences, and Apple TV helps present the lessons. The iPad will also be used along with iMovie to record and create videos as part of projects throughout the year. Students will be able to use the iPad to access web applications such as Desmos. I used an iPad everyday as an intern and saw first-hand how much more receptive the students were to mathematics when it was presented as something they could relate to. Benefits to Students: -Engaging Lessons -Voice-Record Tests/Quizzes/Handouts for students with Read Aloud Accommodations -Lessons recorded and posted for all students to access at home -Students will use the iPad to record and edit videos -Explore web applications to help understand certain mathematical principles/ideas.
