My students need a learning station involving phonics games and tools in order to develop their alphabet learning. They need to learn letter names, letter sounds, and different phonics skills in order to meet end of the year reading benchmark. These phonics games and activities will keep my students motivated and engaged in their reading! They need to have a choice of how to learn phonics skills and these materials provide a wide variety of fun and exciting options for each student. They'll use the alphabet locks, alphabet magnets, and stamps to build their letter name and sound knowledge. They can then use magnetic word building boards to begin to sound out and decode words. All of these activities will begin to build their phonemic awareness skills. Research shows that students need a strong foundation in the alphabetic principle and I need to provide that opportunity to my students.
