Having a variety of seating will allow students to feel independent with how they learn. They will be more engaged, motivated, and accountable for their learning. Some of the seating I chose lends itself to have the students work with partners or small groups. This will motivate them to work cooperatively. Right now I have a variety of places for the students to sit, but I don't have the right seats to help them work comfortably. The students will be excited to pick from a variety of options such as floor cushions and stools which will allow them to move, sit, or wiggle freely. I can't wait for them to walk in on the first day!
