The students will benefit by having a meaningful chapter book, Wonder, to read at the beginning of the school year. It will set the tone of our classroom for acceptance of all people. The ability to inspire students to accept people for their inner beauty versus what they see on the outside is a goal that can be reached with the reading of this book. I am a teacher who always wants all my students to feel safe in their classroom. I want them to feel safe to make mistakes, safe to share their fears, safe to be themselves without fear of ridicule. I hope to create a culture of acceptance in a time when we have people being judged and labeled by society on a daily basis.
