A subscription to Scholastic News for each student in my classroom will provide my second graders with opportunities to read authentic non fiction text. Scholastic News includes articles about current events, as well as tables, charts, maps and other text features to support the information. With Scholastic News we'll visit places around the world. Many students don't have the opportunity to travel, or to visit museums, aquariums or other learning centers. The interesting articles are accompanied by full color photographs to give students a real life experience. Scholastic News will suppport our learning in Science and Social Studies for the entire school year.
