The books Rump, Red and Jack will be used to compare and contrast characters and authors points of view. Students will need to have the book accessible to gather evidence for their claims. The books will be 2-1 ratio, which will give them the ability to share thoughts and ideas with their reading partner. I want to give my students the opportunity to deeply engage in their reading. My students need time to investigate and search for information. A read-a-loud format does not have any reread-ability, which is needed. With these books all the students will have access to the story at their fingertips.
