I LOVE teaching my kinders using engaging, hands-on and active games that allow them to move as they learn. They are far more involved in their learning when they are using actual hands-on game pieces than when we are just using paper and pencil. I am always scouring teacher websites looking for new games to add to my collection. I print them out, laminate them and then share them with my kiddos. The little ones are bombarded with bright, shiny, colorful images on a daily basis by their computers, tablets, ipads and TV's. In order for me to compete with all that imagery, I like to print my games in color which uses a LOT of printer ink and colored paper. With the ability to produce more academic games for them with the purchase of ink and paper, I can continue to keep them engaged and excited about the skills and concepts that I am teaching them. I LOVE seeing their eyes light up when I bring out a new game to share with them. As they learn to work as a team - taking turns, sharing, encouraging and supporting - they are also reinforcing our skills and concepts as they act as peer teachers with one another. I have learned that an active, engaged student is a happy student and a happy student is a kiddo that LOVES to learn. The games are used on a daily basis during Rotation Time as well as Small Group Time. The kinders also like to take out their favorites and play them during Free Center Time. My goal is to be able to produce a yearly set of games for my little ones...that's a LOT of ink and paper. We would LOVE your support! Thank you!
