Different seating, such as a standing desk allows one to work while standing if they can't sit. Having a ball chair to sit on lets you move a little while still being focused and engaged. In our classroom we move around all day. Students have the option of where they can sit in the room. We want all students to be actively engaged. Having different seating options available gives a student the choice of what helps them learn best. This allows students to work independently, in small groups, in partners, etc. They can also have options to wiggle while they work, which we all need.
