Sitting together as a group on a rug is part of students learning how to socialize as well as be a part of group conversations and activities. This rug would provide space for each student to sit during story time. It will also be a place for students to play with blocks, LEGOs, cars, and other classroom learning tools. Play is how children learn. Listening to stories is how children learn as well. The rug is colorful and fun. It will help students to feel comfortable and at home in my classroom. When students feel safe and comfortable they are more likely to learn.
