Becoming independent and feeling confident in the classroom is something we have been working on together all year. Talking with my students, they said if they knew that they had worked hard on a problem and then found out they got the correct answer right away or it was wrong with out making a big deal about it, it would make them feel much more confident in their work. I have tried this out using my cell phone and an old iPod that I had at home. I did find that they were willing to celebrate correct answers and willing to try to redo and erase if the answer was incorrect but on the right track (erasing is a big deal in 4th grade). This is a great step to becoming independent in the classroom and it also frees me to work with students who could not understand the concept or assignment. So with both of these Apple iPods. along with the old Ipad and my cell phone it would allow 4 students to check their work at one time. It would allow for more work time, more problems being checked and more practice on a concept that will help them in their future. Yes,I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks for your consideration.
