This is my first year as a solo teacher, and from past experience in the classroom: school shopping can be an incredible burden on some families. I don't want my students that are struggling financially to feel like they already are starting off the school year as "less than" because the shopping list was impossible to complete. All of my students deserve that first day feeling of organizing brand new school supplies that will carry them through so many new learnings and adventures! This is a list of some basic school supplies that families are always asked to contribute for the first day of school.
