My goal is to increase motivation and raise the engagement of all my students. Our bodies were built for movement! Research shows that flexible seating has amazing benefits from using excess energy and improving metabolism to better oxygen flow to the brain, increased motivation and engagement. I am asking for a variety of flexible seating that will allow students to choose what they need on any given day. Allowing students to have choice will start their day with some ownership into their learning. They will be able to expend energy without disrupting their own learning and the learning of others. I am asking for tables that will allow us to get rid of our traditional desks. Tables in the classroom will be arranged at various heights to accommodate the different types of seating available. I am also asking for different seating options. When using flexible seating, students are able to choose between the wobble chairs, stools and cushions to help them learn best.
