We will be going back to basics with carpet time, or as it's called now, "morning meeting". We will greet each other, form relationships, share, discuss, and learn from each other. Having a colorful rug will help the students physically feel comfortable instead of sitting on the cold tile. The colors and objects on the rug will also help students learn colors and shapes. It will help to make quick groups too ("those on a square, go to math centers", etc.) I can't wait for new students to see the rug and to use it several times a day! Thank you!
