In middle school, informational writing is a very important skill that we work on all year. Having access to high-quality, high-interest, low-level non-fiction books and magazines would allow my students to continue expanding their reading and writing skills. With a subscription to Time for Kids magazine, my students would start each week with fresh, new, and relevant examples of excellent non-fiction writing! With the "I Am" series of books, students can learn about important figures in history using books that are well matched to their reading levels. I am always looking for ways to get my students excited about reading and writing, and I think that some new additions to our classroom library would do the trick.
