The students at my school have not had the opportunity to use many instruments as part of their music education for quite some time. As a first year teacher, I walked into the school, and there were very few instruments to assist with music instruction. Even though the school budget does not provide for instruments, my students deserve to have instruments that not only enhance their music education, but challenge them with personal growth as well. Ukuleles are both solo and ensemble instruments. Not only will the students be able to growth in their own musicianship, but they will also be able to grow while working together. Providing my students with a classroom set of ukuleles will give the students an opportunity to flourish as both a musicians and as individuals.
