Amazing but large group of rising fourth graders who need comfortable spaces to READ and learn to LOVE READING again. I teach Language Arts and Social Studies and have 28 currently in my homeroom x 2 blocks = 56 reading students each day! We love to read on the floor, in chairs, under tables, anywhere! We need alternative seating options--28 desks and chairs take up too much space to allow for additional alternative comfortable seating options. How can kids read sitting rigidly in an uncomfortably hard chair? I need help financing alternative seating options such as fitness balls, bouncy bands, beanbag chairs, wobble cushions, lap desks, and pillow chairs to name a few. Alternative seating allows students to choose the best fit for them, which in turn allows them to focus on the work on reading and learning rather than trying to sit still or get comfortable. Please help if you can!
