The decodable readers will assist students with the necessary resources they need to learn to read. Research supports the need for students to have these readers to cement phonics skills which are the foundation for reading. Students deserve to have a plethora of books available to choose from but unfortunately this is not the case for the students I serve. Being able to provide a library of high-interest decodable books would provide both equity and equality. The texts you would provide which ensure students had texts that allow them practice opportunities with texts that are both readable and engaging.
