By giving students variety and options in the classroom, they will be more focused and reading to learn! I plan to help my students in the classroom through the use of flexible seating. Students know how they learn best and we need to empower them to make the decisions to help them do this. I want to give my students a variety of seating, such as yoga balls, stools, and lap trays so they can discover what works best for them. I started this last year by using crate seats that I created and pillows for alternative seating. My students loved the choice to sit somewhere different and I want to continue this in my classroom by giving them more and better options! Students can use the seating to work independently around the room or to work collaboratively in groups. As a STEAM school, we want to encourage both of these types of learning and teach students to see their education in a different way.
