"Wonder" is a story about a 6th grade boy who suffers from prejudice, bullying and rejection in a real-world situation, one that is not unlike many of my students. The characters and situations are applicable to my student's lives which makes this novel an amazing tool for the children to apply their thoughts and responses to the novel's plot and experiences. Additionally, written from various character's perspectives absolutely encourages my students to think from another's point of view, engaging critical responses. This novel is rich with material for me to instigate and engage the students to intensively think and respond for themselves.
