My students love to hear stories read aloud to them and brought to life. Through this project, I intend to integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) basic skills of problem solving through classic stories such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, and The Three Pigs. Students will be immersed in different types of motion, as well as plan their own investigations about different types of motion through the characters, settings, and problems of these classic tales. Students will build parachutes to save Jack from the Giant, save the Three Pigs from the Big Bad Wolf, and rescue Rapunzel from her tower! The donations to my classroom will continuously help my students become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and most importantly, have fun learning. Students will use our classroom tablet to present what they have learned with fun, engaging, and free software that can be shared with their parents, families, and other classmates. Students will be able to use the problem solving skills they they have developed through this unit into their everyday lives with your support!
