I am a veteran teacher, and new first grade teacher! My 20 students are boisterous, empathetic, fun, silly, and deserving. These little learners are the future leaders, teachers, doctors, and salesmen of tomorrow. They have big dreams and deserve the best. They make me smile, and also challenge me. I love that about my class! I teach at a title 1 school in southeastern North Carolina. This school is the largest elementary school in our county, serving over 800 students! Many of my students face challenges at home and lack resources that you and I might take for granted. I want to provide an environment that levels the playing field and ensures that every student that steps foot in my classroom has the tools they need to succeed. I aim to provide a nurturing, active, resource-rich classroom. I will do whatever it takes to help get the tools they need to experience success in my room. These children are our future.
