My first grade classroom is located in a low-income community in Maryland with a large population of English Language Learners. It is a Title I school with more than 80% of students receiving free or reduced lunches. The students come from diverse backgrounds where they participate in a full inclusion classroom. These students are all excited, active, and inquisitive young learners who come to school ready to grow and share experiences. Although my students may face different obstacles at home and at school, it is my privilege to help them overcome these challenges and become the best they can be!
