My students need flexible seating to help support their active lifestyles. The students in my classroom are engaged and enthusiastic learners. They love to dig deeper into their learning by engaging in hands on exploratory tasks. At any age, it is a struggle to sit still for an extended period of time. Flexible seating will allow for movement within the classroom while they are also providing minimal distractions to those around them. Flexible seating will allow my students the ability to move around while also staying on task and focused. Many students struggle to sit still and focus at the same time. By providing them with flexible seating, I will have the ability to engage them not only intellectually, but physically as well. The students within my classroom need materials that allow for movement when they are also trying to focus. To allow for this within my classroom, I hope to provide the students with different flexible seating options. The soft seats within my classroom will help provide students with places to sit on the rug that allow for movement. The bean bags will allow the students to sit in the reading nook in a comfortable and relaxed manor. Lastly, the wobble chairs will allow for movement with the students that struggle to stay sitting in their desk chairs for extended periods of time.
