The phonics, alphabetic, and phonemic awareness materials that I have chosen will be used in small independent learning stations to allow my students opportunities to apply and practice the skills they have learned in the whole group reading lesson. It will be their opportunity to shine and grow! Research has proven that the greatest predictor of a student's success in reading is based upon their alphabetic and phonological knowledge; therefore, I have chosen phonemic awareness, phonics, and alphabetic materials that will allow students to build strong skills in these areas.
