I am a first year teacher and a new unit at my school. I am working towards having a variety of books in different genres to allow my students to read books that they are interested in. In addition, I want a variety of levels of books so that my students can read books in my room, regardless of what reading level they are on. My students come from all different backgrounds, so having a variety of books to match their unique personalities and needs is crucial to creating a positive, effective learning environment in my classroom. I believe by having these books in my classroom library, my students will be able to engage in reading a variety of materials and genres.
