Privacy Shields allow students to create a personal workspace that helps them block out distraction and allow for focus on independent tasks. They may be used atop student desks or in various areas around the classroom. The 'mini-offices' may be used as writing stations or creative work areas, as well as in independent work space, providing students with a much needed sense of personal space at times within a large classroom setting. The longer I teach, the more I see students struggle with focus. All students deserve a place of quiet retreat from a large group with whom they are constantly surrounded. Required evaluation of students also necessitates that privacy and security be provided which guarantee one's own work is being performed. The privacy shields being requested through this project will go a long way in meeting these needs.
