My students need more technology in our classroom to create digital learning that will help them become 21st-century learners. This project will allow my students the opportunity to use this new technology daily. It will allow more students the opportunity to use technology for digital learning every day, multiple times a day. These new devices will enable my students greater time to participate in research and will provide my students with the opportunity to digitally publish their research findings, projects, as well as their written masterpieces in a way that will allow family members and others to view their finished products, no matter where they live. Through the use of the iPad, Insignia tablet, and laptop, my students will be able to create projects using board builder, PowerPoint, participate in e-pal letters with students from a different school, and create book review trailers through Blendspace. My students will be able to use these devices to take pictures and videos that they will add to their projects. They can also use a variety of learning apps during our literacy center time. These apps will help with phonemic skills. The development of these phonemic skills is important for them to become fluent readers. If our classroom had more devices, then I would be able to allow my students the opportunity to become 21st-century learners. We would love to have access to more technology in our classroom. Ultimately, more meaningful and lasting learning will take place. Students are engaged by technology so these devices will be able to teach my students a great deal through research and publishing of their findings.
