I am going into my second year of teaching; I want to be able to give my students, students who come from a place of riots, poverty, and shootings, the world. The world that allows them to be creative and read stories of lives like and different to theirs. My students need to understand the importance of reading. My students need to practice reading in order to become stronger students. My students need an escape from some of their the harsh realities. My urban students deserve just as much as other students, and these books will give them a feeling of comfort and support.

About my class
