"If you are a dreamer, come in, if you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar, a hope-er, a pray-er, a magic-bean-buyer... if you're a pretender, come sit by my fire for we have some flax golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!" In this poem, "Invitation," Shel Silverstein captures perfectly that which I want to gift to my students: a special place to dream, cooperate, develop language, pretend, and learn authentically through imaginative play. This multipurpose playhouse will become a restaurant, bakery, ice cream shop, hair salon, post office, fruit stand, baby nursery, flower shop, grocery store, vet's office, and so much more! Help me spark each child's imagination as we learn to take turns, share ideas, and role play in our integrated class's Imagination Station.
