In the past three years I have felt that my calendar time is less and less effective. Students sitting on the rug and chanting songs along with me is so fun, but for some it just doesn't stick. This year I am implementing a hands-on calendar binder for each student. This will teach them how to use a calendar, fine motor skills, accountability, and so much more. Each student will need their own binder. ( I can reuse them every year.) I am also working on my CVC and literacy intervention centers and will need to keep them organized. Additional materials to make these hands on activities run smoothly are also needed. Bingo daubers are so great for our literacy and math centers and even for our whole group counting at calendar time. (Thus, every student would need one.) The label maker and individual containers make it easy for me to label and make them kid friendly for my students to be able to access them quickly. Kindergarten students need a lot of visual and colorful reminders at first. I am truly grateful for any help. My students and I will have fun using these materials everyday while learning a mountain of skills. Kindergarten is much different now and they are capable of so much. I expect so much from my students because I love them. Doing hands-on activities are their absolute favorite part of the day!
