The flexible seating options in my project will provide my students with the opportunity to choose where and how they learn best. Education focuses greatly on differentiating learning for students as individuals. I believe that giving my students the chance to pick where they focus most, not only gives them a chance to be comfortable while working, but also provides a platform for collaborative learning. I do not want to diminish student learning by forcing students to stay seated at a desk all day. My job is to provide students with the least restrictive environment. I believe that providing the children with flexible seating options, such as mats to lay out on, balls to bounce on, and cushions to share with a partner gives each child the comfort and freedom to focus on mastering the third grade skills taught in my classroom.
