Every year, my goal is to create a learning space for my students that is functional, organized, safe, encouraging, and replenished with the essentials we will need to learn, make mistakes, grow, and be creative throughout the school year. This year my students need basics such as tissues, pencils, scissors, dry erase board erasers, and headphones. The materials I am requesting are necessities we use on a daily basis in our 4th grade classroom to help foster our learning, assess our learning, enrich and extend our learning, make our learning more interactive, and communicate what we have learned with others. Headphones are also a must as technology continues to advance in the general classroom. Headphones are especially crucial when students are working independently on an individualized computer activity that has been tailored and differentiated to their personal academic needs. The dry erase board erasers will be used to give the students the opportunity to use our white board tables during whole group lessons. This will keep students engaged and give them the opportunity to practice, reinforce, and review skills and strategies we have learned in whole group lessons.
