The items chosen for our project will help my students with real tactile experiences involving 3D objects, as well as making meaningful connections with area and perimeter concepts. I strive for my students to have the most hands on experiences possible in our classroom. The LEGOs, and LEGO base plates are a great way to help the students get excited about various math concepts, with the added benefit of working on fine motor skills. These will be used during center time to help reinforce a variety of math standards. There are endless benefits and possibilities of student interactions with these materials. We will use the timer to keep track of our time at the centers. Students will also begin to understand and utilize the real world skill of time management. The clear name covers will be used to protect our labels for our centers.
