My classroom has several spaces for students to use to learn in groups and independently. There are four desktop computers that students use for our computer-based reading and math programs, to take Accelerated Reader tests, and to research topics. We have a Promethean Board for technology integration, several iPads for students to use throughout the year, and many games and activity boxes for students to use while at workstations or when they complete assignments. We have a wall of cubbies for storage, math manipulatives and leveled readers, a classroom library leveled by AR levels.There is a large carpet for students to sit on while i read aloud, conduct mini-lessons or use Target Math. They also like to sit at the carpet to play games or complete group work. My students sit at double tables on individual student chairs for whole group instruction and at a kidney table for guided reading or small group instruction.
