My classroom consists of students in Kindergarten through fourth grade, all who have some sort of disability. These needs require a functional curriculum focused on the acquisition of daily living and vocational skills leading to a successful transition to adult life within the community. My classroom helps to provide instruction in practical academics, communication, community, and vocational skills utilizing a functional curriculum in general education school building. In my classroom their is an emphasis on communication, maximizing independence, and opportunities to generalize skills in natural settings as well as participation in general education activities with typical peers.

About my class
