I am requesting highly engaging books that offer a range of social experiences for 3rd graders. The classroom library is the hub of all learning and with quality books, my students will be given the opportunity to grow socially, as well as academically. The books will be used to foster an emotionally healthy classroom that promotes empathy and compassion during Reading Workshop. These books will supplement newly adopted units of study and mindfulness curriculum. The more diverse classroom library available to my learners will open their eyes to real life issues that will help them be more compassionate and empathetic members of the community. Learners being able to have a voice and choice in their reading materials promotes the lifelong love of reading!
