All students benefit from the accessibility of technology with the constant changes and development in technology happening in our world today. Students are required to utilize various types of technology to take assessments such as standardized tests and diagnostic tests. Technology is a vital aspect to different types of jobs that students might have in the future. Most importantly, students can use technology to complete fun, engaging activities in the classroom aligned to our state standards. All of these reasons are why I would like to fund iPads with cases and screen protectors for the students in my classroom. I plan to use these iPads primarily during my center/small group time. I am teaching 2nd grade reading, so I will be preparing my students for the 3rd grade Reading Gate for the following school year. This statewide assessment will determine if a student progresses to 4th grade. Since apps can be downloaded onto iPads, my students will be able to use these apps to listen to reading, practice their spelling, and read comprehension passages. I will have approximately 4 to 6 students per group, so I need headphone splitters to allow multiple students to use each iPad at once. Because I am teaching elementary students, iPad cases and screen protectors are necessary so the devices will not break as easily. I greatly appreciate your support for education and my classroom!
