The four Samsung Chromebook Plus laptops will be used every day during centers and in small groups during reading intervention and math intervention. The upper-grade classes have Chromebook carts that they share one day a week with us, but with your donation, the three kindergarten classes will have a small group access to this technology every day. With the new Common Core standards our kindergarten students have technology standards that must be met. Introducing these laptops in kindergarten will allow students to meet these standards and become familiar with the technology that by third grade, class time does not need to be spent on how to use the technology. Students will also easily be able to take the SBAC state test by introducing this technology early. For many of my students this will be their first access to this technology which will greatly help them prepare for their future. These laptops allow students to engage in learning many language arts and math standards. They also provide an outlet of creativity where students are able to draw and record their voice to bring their drawing to life.
